Sekmet.

Notice the heavy usage of red, violet, black and gold.. Give a sense of warmth, royalty and power.. Skin and face are all painted gold.
I'll post a clearer pic of the make up soon but till then, say hello to Sekmet, reborn.

Creative Color Combos part 1

well, this is the first installation of my Color Coordination Creative
make up..
i am gonna introduce to you absolutely favourite element in make up..
C-O-L-O-U-R-S.. let say it together children..... COLOURS!!!!!

Colors are divided into groups:
+Primary
RED, BLUE and YELLOW

+Secondary?
GREEN, ORANGE, PURPLE

+Tertiary?
The in-between colors such as
Yellow-Green, Red-Violet, Blue-Green

and we have different types of color combinations for different purposes..

+Analogous?
Analogous color scheme uses colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel.
It is suitable for a more harmonious color combination especially to create a nice gradient for the eyeshadows.

Complementary?
The complementary color scheme is made of two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel.
It is suitable when you want contrast and attract serious attention to the eyes.
eg: green and red

Triadic
The triadic color scheme uses three colors equally spaced around the color wheel.
It is suitable when you are doing creative make up because more colors means more time taken to blend them and actually work it well with the entire look.

Here's a color wheel to demonstrate what the fish i am talking about, no worries!
Okay, i'll show you images of what i have done back then once you digest this entry.. i'll give you a day to actually understand what i'm talking about..

The key to a good make is actually understanding your colors..
I love colors.. and coming from an Art/Design background, colors are something i play around everyday..
That also explains why i "abuse" them most of time too :p

Oh my, it's getting a lil late and i think my pillows are calling..
As always, a quote to wrap the day's entry..
